Youngsters YOGAspirit® Training
with Shirley Pantoliano & Kim Valeri |
YOGAspirit® alumna Shirley Pantoliano has worked with Kim to offer training in teaching yoga to our next generation. From infancy to teenhood, "yoga is not merely an activity, but a tool for managing the obstacles that come with physical and emotional growth," Shirley says.
Youngsters Yoga Training will help teachers learn how to instruct children, babies, and moms in yoga and offer insight into how to practice with their own children. Focused on fun, the interactive and informative format will address:
- working with the post-natal mom with her infant
- integrating storytelling, music, creative arts, and earthcare with yoga for children up to age 3
- designing lesson plans
- developing marketing skills to promote your specialty to preschools, studios, and after-school programs |

Shirley Pantoliano's Bio:
Shirley Pantoliano's path has revolved around yoga and nutrition for almost 30 years in both conventional and non-conventional arenas.
The conventional: As a registered dietitian and hospital based professional she was a contributing writer for the "New England Journal of Medicine". She earned a master's degree in health promotion, with emphasis in exercise physiology. She has been a guest lecturer for the Emory University School of Medicine to train "physicians to be" in the benefits of wellness. |
 |
The non-conventional: Shirley mistakenly walked into a yoga class during a period of post-partum depression. She felt so moved by the end of class that she hasn't looked back, but did recover from the depression to birth her second child. She also completed the 200 hour level training through YOGAspirit® and specialty trainings in children's yoga through Marcia Metzger. She has also received inspiration from Sydney Solis and Marcia Wenig. As lead yoga instructor at the Merrimack Valley YMCA she successfully developed, implemented, and marketed yoga programs for children ages 0-crawling, 1-3, 3-5, 6-8, and 8-12, as well as yoga mini-camps and yoga/cooking classes.
This past year she launched her own nutrition/yoga company, Balance From Within at www.BalanceFromWithin.net and is now leading YOGAspirit®'s Yoga Youngsters training program.
