about yogaspirit®

Our purpose at yogaspirit® is to assist in the evolution of, and healing of, human consciousness through education and inspiration.

We honor all yogic lineages and spiritual traditions, recognizing that we are all connected in the family of humanity. Our greatest hope is that the teachings, principles, and philosophies of yogaspirit® will be passed down to benefit for generations to come.

After founder Kim Valeri's personal nine-year mystical and physical journey healing from near death injury in the early '80s, yogaspirit® was founded in 1997 to share yogic teachings and the power of healing. Its growth has evolved in direct response to student's requests for continued knowledge and transformation. With its first student teacher apprenticeship in 1997, private mentoring later developed into yogaspirit®'s first organized Teacher Training in 1999. In January 2001 yogaspirit® was one of the first 20 flagship schools to be registered with the Yoga Alliance. In 2002 yogaspirit® expanded with site locations in Maine and Connecticut as a leading New England establishment with an extensive faculty, having certified hundreds of teachers over the past decade. Today, yogaspirit® is taught in Seattle, Washington, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Today, Kim Valeri continues to spread the teachings of yogaspirit® through many collaborations and strategic partnerships. She instructs men and women, young and old, newcomers or seasoned, worldly yoga practitioners, how to lead a sacred life by creating a safe space to heal, transform, and transmit the authentic yogic teachings that enhances personal growth and transformation. Talented teachers trained in Kim's yogaspirit® style inspire students to open up to the exciting process of transformation by finding creative ways of relating to challenges through asana and the inner practices of yoga.

The yogaspirit® 200 Hour Foundational Curriculum provides a consistent methodology from which the Advanced Certifications, including the Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Program, continue to build upon specific yogaspirit® healing techniques and methods. In 2012 yogaspirit® studios entered into a new collaboration with Kerala Ayurveda® Academy to unite the paths of Yoga and Ayurveda. In 2014 Kim Valeri led the combined companies as a faculty member and CEO of Kerala Ayurveda and yogaspirit®. In January 2016, Kim chose to continue on as faculty to meet her desire to stay connected to the transformation aspect of healing and teaching. Today she remains faculty and Strategic Partner for Kerala Ayurveda Academy and is focusing on the process of accrediting yogaspirit®'s Yoga Therapy school with the International Yoga Therapists Association, her private healing practice, and business consulting.

yogaspirit® is about going deep inside to discover the spirit behind the yoga asana. Teachers are trained in guiding students with precision and alignment that allows for safe and therapeutic practice. In a noncompetitive environment, students are invited to explore and open energetic pathways that lead to inner grace and well-being.” -Kim Valeri
